Mundaring Walk

During my morning constitutional walk this morning  through the streets of Mundaring in Western Australia I had this strange feeling that the Eye of Sauron was watching me…



It seems the town planners in Mundaring were fans of the Lord Of The Rings.


And on turning down a different road I found this lake not 5 minutes walk from our home I can almost see the shimmer of a polished long sword just below the depths…

Onward and Upward

Decided to create a Thai version of Walkabout today and Took will be translating all the stories on the English site as they come in and also considering doing a Mandarin version as well so 3 times the workload!  Luckily I can handle the pressure! Any suggestions for other languages we should translate?


My first From The Editors Desk post, so exciting!

I have had this desire to create a Travel related web site for many years now and first registered the domain name nearly 10 years ago and have had a few small sites running under the domain. I was always time poor and couldn’t devote enough hours to develop the sites as they should have been.

Today I am in a better position and have time to allocate to developing the site and a clear plan for the sites future. Like you I have read many travel websites and travel blogs and I am often overwhelmed by the amount of advertising on the site and at times struggle to distinguish between genuine travel stories and advertorials.
